Curtis Russell had been scouting this buck, or at least he thought it was a buck for over a year. He shot the 22-point deer, near Billings, Missouri, and that’s when he was in for quite the surprise, because it was actually a doe! Yes, a Missouri conservation officer has verified this deer is indeed a doe. Before Curt shot the "doe buck” with his 30.06 rifle, it was with a group of 7 other deer, and he said that it was even behaving like a mature buck in rut.
The Missouri Department of Conservation said it was likely caused by a hormone imbalance.
